The tram has been a familiar icon in Amsterdam’s streets for many years. Now, you can enjoy the city in comfort aboard the AmsterTram, taking in the views while indulging in a five-course gourmet dinner paired with a carefully curated drinks arrangement.
Reservations can be made for tables of 2 or 4 guests, or by renting half (22 seats) or the entire tram (44 seats).
A rare dining experience is coming to Amsterdam. There are only four other active restaurant trams in the world (Christchurch, Milan, Brussels, and The Hague). With the retirement of Amsterdam’s 12G trams, the Museum Tram Line Foundation saw an opportunity to collaborate with Suzanne Knegt, the entrepreneur behind the RotterTram. Together, they embarked on the exciting journey to bring the AmsterTram to life.
When the chair of the Electric Museum Tram Line Amsterdam (EMA) approached Suzanne about expanding to Amsterdam, it didn’t take long for her to say yes. The timing aligned perfectly with the phase-out of the GVB’s 12G trams, allowing her to acquire tram 822 from 1990. Drawing on lessons learned from the restaurant tram in Rotterdam, improvements were made to create an even better dining tram experience in Amsterdam. The newest restaurant tram in the world, the AmsterTram, promises to be a stunning addition to the city’s unique and vibrant culinary scene.
