Job Description: Assistant Hospitality Manager – AmsterTram
16–24 hours per week | Flexible shifts
Location: Amsterdam | Weekdays and weekends
Help coordinate our rides and create unforgettable guest experiences aboard Amsterdam’s moving tram restaurant!

You welcome guests, support and guide the service team, help prepare each shift, and act as a point of contact during rides. You actively work on the floor, answer practical questions from guests and colleagues, and help keep service organized before, during, and after each ride. You take initiative, share ideas for improvement, and remain calm and flexible in our unique moving restaurant. A dinner shift involves about 6 hours, while a lunch shift is approximately 5 hours.

- Have completed relevant hospitality training
- Have experience as a shift leader or supervisor
- Have your own transportation (car)
- Hold Social Hygiene and First Aid (BHV) certificates
What we offer:
- A unique workplace promoting the best city in the world
- Enthusiastic guests and friendly, committed colleagues
- The most scenic moving workplace in Amsterdam
- A salary appropriate to your experience and responsibilities
- Relatively stable working hours, finishing on time
- Room for personal initiative and creativity
- Responsibility with the support of the owner
What is the AmsterTram?
The AmsterTram is a unique tram restaurant travelling through Amsterdam—one of only a handful of moving restaurant trams in the world. Built in 1990, the tram operated in Amsterdam until 2021 and has since been converted into a restaurant on wheels, complete with a kitchen, restroom, and seating for 44 guests.
We offer 2.5-hour dinner rides from Wednesday to Sunday. The tram can also be rented for private events such as lunch, drinks, or high tea, and we occasionally offer extra rides.
The AmsterTram offers a unique culinary experience of Amsterdam to share with family, friends, or colleagues. We connect our guests with the city and each other through warm, personal service and aim to make every ride unforgettable.
During a ride, you work with:
- A tram driver (via the Electric Museum Tram Line Amsterdam)
- A chef (via our catering partner Sonah Catering)
- One or more service team members, depending on the ride
You work closely with the owner and the rest of the team to give every guest a smooth and memorable experience.
